Remembering a Friend

PictureOn Monday morning, our good friend and long-time colleague, Matt Maslar, passed away after a long and courageous struggle with cancer.

At the time of his death, Matt was just 43. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Rosann and his daughter Gabby, and the rest of the extended Maslar family, including his nephew, our own Paul Moccio.

For those of you who had the opportunity to work with Matt, you'll remember him for his vision, enthusiasm, and incredible work ethic. As our Vice President of Product Management, Matt always put himself in the spots where the work was the most challenging—with the developers, when that was what was called for, and with the clients whenever they needed a trusted adviser and expert guide. That ability to straddle the worlds of business and technology is a rare thing, and we will miss it here.

But the real tragedy is that this wonderful human being was taken from his daughter, his wife, and from all of his friends, colleagues, and clients, when so much of his promise had yet to be realized.

In lieu of flowers and other remembrances, we as a team have asked the family if we might instead contribute to an education fund for Gabriella. Like all parents, Matt was focused resolutely on his daughter's education, and we couldn't think of a better way to honor and celebrate his life than to contribute to the purpose to which he dedicated himself.

If you would like to help in this cause, the information for Gabriella's UGift account appears below. Please know that all gifts made through the UGift system go 100% to the intended purpose.
